Rolls Royce engined hotrod project? Need Gearbox?
I’m building a Facel Vega HK500-based Hot Rod using a 6.75 litre rolls royce v8. Does anyone know of a company that can make a manual (pref. 6 speed) box for this engine, as all the rollers went out with auto’s as far as I know. Still very much in the early stages, just feeling out my budget.
I’m using a Rolls Royce V8 as it’s available, and rather cool… not to mention made by craftsmen beyond compare. I do look forward to a frenchman lifting the bonnet of their national luxury car to find good old english power filling the space that a chrysler 383 originally occupied.
I would look towards an XJS manual box as the auto XJS used an adaptation of the Rolls Royce transmission.
